Janice K. “Jan” Kensler

Jan Kensler, age 78, passed away on Wednesday June 4, 2025 in Omaha, NE.

Jan was born in Sioux City, IA in 1946 to parents Esta and George Redinbaugh.  She attended Sioux City public schools and graduated from Sioux City East high school in 1965, and in 1969 with a BSE from Wayne State College; and taught at CE business college until 1974.  She married C. Victor Kensler in April of 1971.  Their son, Todd was born in 1975, and daughter, Megan in 1980.

Jan worked in various departments at US West.  The last being on the president’s staff.  In 1992 she began work at First Data where she retired in November of 2011.  She and Vic have enjoyed traveling to many countries and other states.

She is survived by her husband, C. Victor; son, Todd (Jolene) Kensler;  daughter, Megan (Lee) Holmstedt;  granddaughters: Avery, Laura, Madeleine; and numerous cousins, family and friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday June 7, 2025 at 11:00AM at First Central  Congregational  Church, 421 S. 36th St., Omaha, NE 68131

INTERMENT: Monday, June 9, 2025, 3:30PM, Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Schram Road, Omaha.

In lieu of flowers, memorials ae suggested to First  Central Congregational Church or to Wayne State College Foundation.
