Jayne Ball, 80, passed away at her home surrounded by loved ones on March 20, 2023. Jayne was born in Manchester, IA, on December 5, 1942. She was the third of seven children. Jayne graduated from Central Catholic High School in Grand Island, NE. She married the love of her life, Jerry, in 1961. They quickly added three more J’s to their team and eventually established roots in Omaha, NE. After raising their children, Jayne went back to school and received her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work at the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Jayne enjoyed an active and fulfilling life: her daily walks, exercise classes, attending live music, volunteering, spending time with friends, Friday night football, and being a coach’s wife. She was always willing to lend an ear and offer words of wisdom. Most of all, she loved being with her family and relished the close relationships she shared with each of her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; parents, Betty Tipton Booth and Howard Tipton; sister, Pat Ward; and brother, Jimmy.
She is survived by her three children: Jay, Jodi Hendricks (Alan), and Jill Goodrich; grandchildren: Rachel and Jacob Carter; Zane, Max, and Zoe Goodrich; and Alex Hendricks; great-grandchild, Hailey Norton; brothers, Mike and Terry, sisters, Gerri Empey and Barb Chamberlin; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Sorry to hear about you Mom. Death leaves a heartache
No one can heal,
Love leaves a memory no one can steal.
She was so loved by all and very special to my mom and me. And always fun to be around she will sooo missed. Barb and Dave are my son and daughter in law and spent lots of time together. Well going to miss her as many will. Love to you all.
Dear Jodi, Alan and family of Jane,

She has left a wonderful legacy for the love of family.
May the many sweet memories live in your hearts as you remember,
Always,
Diane and Osa Hendricks
Children and friends of Jayne.
I went to grade school with Jayne at Saint Mary’s in Grand Island. I remember she was quite athletic. She was also one of the first chosen on the playground when teams were solicited for games!. May her soul and all the souls of the faithfully departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace Amen!
Shocked and saddened to read of this news today. Over the past year at the monthly Tech High luncheons at the Keystone Cafe I was able to visit with Jayne on a number of occasions and had enjoyable conversations. She was energetic and spirited and such a pleasant person. Our thoughts are with Jay, Jodi, and Jill.

Dear Family, Jayne was an important part of my professional life for close to 40 years at UNMC and later with Prevention Plus. Each and everyday she
was a positive helpful presence. She knew and
was known by phone contacts with people in many
countries, a wonderful ambassador for
Prevention Plus and the Braden Scale. She was an important and valuable part of our team. She will forever be remembered with profound gratitude and love.
Until we meet again!

I am so sorry to hear about your mom. For more than 25 years, I always looked forward to visiting with her at the state track meet. Your dad was in charge of the discus when I first started working at the discus. She was a super person and will be missed a lot. My prayers are with all of you.
Jane was a very respected lady. I met her and Jerry through officiating at the Nebraska State Track meet in the event of discus. She will be missed by all. May Jane RIP with her husband Jerry in God’s wonder Heaven. We will miss you Jane.
I had the pleasure of spending time with Jayne only a handful of times, but her enthusiasm and exuberance made an enduring impression.
A difficult loss for all.
Dear Aunt Jodi, Uncle Al, and family,
Thinking of you and sending lots of love and prayers to you all during this time as you remember your beloved Jayne.
Much love,
Caroline Hendricks
