Evonne and I were neighbors and friends with Jean’s parents on Mayberry Street. We enjoyed visiting with Jean when we would see her around town.
Please accept our condolences.

So sorry to hear of Jeanie’s passing. We knew her from Norris and enjoyed the times we spent together. Some great memories!
I went to Cathedral High School with Jean. We had our 50 year class reunion in 2019.
Sad to hear about her passing. Many members of the CHS Class of 1969 express their condolences.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Jean was a friend and a colleague. She was a determined person and unafraid to step out of her box. She was sincere and hard-working. Although we lost touch at one point, I will always remember her as a person who said what she meant and meant what she said—100 per cent.
I was on a nostalgic kick and wondered what happened to some of my old teachers and was greatly-saddened to hear of the passing of “Miss Pivonka.” She was my 6th grade teacher at St. Cecilia’s grade school back around 1977. She always had a reputation as a no-nonsense teacher but after I was assigned to her homeroom I figured out that it was just a facade; she was actually a sweetheart on the inside. I was kinduva rabble-rouser but we liked each other and got along well. She was very kind and and a great teacher and I will never forget her. I was very saddened to hear of her passing – way too soon.
