Jeffrey Donald Curry

Jeffrey Donald Curry

January 24, 1961 – November 18, 2022

Jeff was born in Redwood City, California, to Gerald and Audrey (Birch) Curry.  He began his lifelong career in the nut industry after graduating from Chico High School in 1979.  He was a Pistachio Grower and International Marketer of tree nuts, owning pistachio orchards in California and Arizona during his lifetime.  His from-the-ground-up experience and natural ability to engage with others made him instrumental in the construction of pistachio plants both in California and abroad in Australia.

He was a much beloved and dedicated husband, father, and friend who was deeply committed to his family. He was actively involved in the communities he lived in, serving on several different boards in volunteer capacities, including the California Pistachio Commission, Lemoore Volunteer Fire Department, Lemoore Little League, as well as the Madera Golf and Country Club.

Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda Henningsen. Survived by his wife, Michele, of 37 years; his sons Kyle (Tora) and Kevin (Allison); grandchildren: Jaxon, Ava, and Cooper; brother Steven (Carol); and many nephews and nieces.

Memorials on Jeff’s behalf may be directed to the Lemoore Volunteer Fire Department, 210 Fox Street, Lemoore, CA 93245.

A casual gathering in Celebration of Jeff’s Life will be held at West Center Chapel, Saturday, January 21, 2023, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

We spent a lot of time together over the years and it was never enough. A bright light had left this world and moved on to the next. I will see you again Jeff, sitting near the father, save a seat for me.

On behalf of Lemoore Volunteer Fire Department, we would like to send our condolences to Michelle, Kyle and Kevin and families. We are deeply saddened to hear of Jeff’s passing. He was a valuable asset to the Lemoore Fire Department from 1991 to 1999. We were sad to see him leave due to a job transfer, but had always hoped we would see him again. Many of us were fortunate enough to raise our children together while enjoying watching them play Lemoore youth sports such as pop warner and baseball and countless activities. Jeff was an outstanding volunteer and we are grateful to have had him as a part of our department. Again, we send our heartfelt condolences. Lemoore Volunteer Fire Department.

Dear Michele, Kyle and Kevin, thank you so much for sharing Jeff’s Celebration of Life online. I was not able to make it in person and am so grateful that I was able to hear your stories and feel your love for Jeff from afar. He would be so proud of you all now, just as he was in life. I can see how he lives on in all of you.
