Jennifer Heldridge was the oldest of three daughters born to Steve and Sheila Heldridge. She was born on August 12, 1977, in Lincoln, NE, and was baptized at St Mary’s in Lincoln. She attended Morton Elementary, Millard North Middle School, and then graduated from Marian High School in 1995. She brought great joy to her family and was a wonderful big sister to Jaime and Johna. She was like a mom to them from a young age.
Jennifer attended UNL and then started her role as Event Coordinator and Membership Director at Champions Run Golf Course in 1999. She met her husband, Jeff, at Champions. On June 12, 2004, Jennifer married Jeff Bruck. They were blessed with two children, Dre & Jaxon. Jennifer absolutely loved being a mom to her two boys and enjoyed attending every event they participated in.
Jennifer continued her role at Champions for 21 years. In her free time, in addition to spending time with Jeff and the boys, Jennifer enjoyed spending time outdoors, at her parent’s lake house, ATV rides, boat rides, going on vacations, playing golf, dancing, and spending time with her friends and family.
Jennifer was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019. She went through treatments and was happy to be cancer free in March 2020. Unfortunately, her cancer returned in September of that same year and Jennifer has been a warrior battling every obstacle she encountered over the past two and a half years. She was blessed to be surrounded by many friends and a loving and supportive family through every step. She was an inspiration to all who knew her and never let the cancer diagnosis stop her from living a full life. Her faith never wavered throughout this journey, but instead got stronger. She battled the disease with grace, courage, and dignity, but, ultimately, lost her fight.
Jennifer will be remembered for her incredibly strong faith and her big, beautiful smile. She was a devoted and loving wife to Jeff (they would have been married for 19 years in June), a loving mother, daughter, sister, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, niece, aunt, and friend.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her grandparents, Harry and Corinne Naylon, Jim and Mary Anne Heldridge; her aunts, Michaela Tolo and Sandy Heldrige; as well as her father-in-law, John Bruck.
Survivors include her husband Jeff, children Dre and Jaxon; parents Steve & Sheila Heldridge of Omaha, NE; sisters, Jaime Stiles of Omaha, Johna (Alex) Henery of Omaha; many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Jeff, Many loving prayers to your entire family with the loss of Jennifer. She was an incredible person who made a profound impact on me in the few years I was privileged to know her. She never complained, always had a positive attitude and a relentless fight until the very end. I am heartbroken for all who loved her and lifting you all up in prayer. I promise to carry on her light in this world in her honor. God Bless you all.

I am so sorry to hear this news. I knew Jennifer in high school and will always remember her kindness, laugh, and smiles! She was my first friend out of my grade school bubble and she was so kind to a shy girl. Jennifer’s family will be in my prayers. Kelly (Hillebrandt) Meiners

I can remember the first time I met Jennifer. She was working at Champions and helped me plan an event there. I knew I was in very capable hands. More recently, she attended an event that Children’s Hospital had. She was having so much fun, and came running up to me, waving her hands in the air. That was my last time seeing her in person – thank, goodness – as it was a time filled with such joy and fun. My heart goes out to her family. She was truly sunshine!
