Jeremiah Lee “Jerry” Gotch
November 9, 1939 – July 2, 2024
On Tuesday July 2nd, Jeremiah (Jerry) Lee Gotch died in Omaha, NE.
Survived by his two loving daughters, Jane Louise Gotch and Kelsey Leona Harrop; brother Charles F. Gotch, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Edna Sullivan Gotch; father, Charles Gotch, and brother, James Edward Gotch.
Jerry was a key figure in the development of public facilities for recreation in Omaha, including the multi-use trail system, Tranquility Park, the Gene Leahy Mall, and the Bob Kerry Bridge.
He loved many things in his life, the study of political science, competing in triathlons, teaching swimming, canoeing, The Audubon Society, saving historic buildings, classical music, and collecting antique records, books, and furniture. His wit and humor will be missed by all who knew him.
His US Veteran funeral services will be held on July 12th at 11am (arrive by 10:30am) at Omaha National Cemetery, 14250 Scram Rd, Omaha, NE 68138.
