Jerrod R. Barr
February 15, 1982 – June 11, 2023
Jerrod Ray Barr was born Saturday, February 15, 1982, to Ray and Laurie Barr in Omaha, Nebraska. He attended Burke High School and after graduation he attended Vatterott College, earning at degree in HVAC. He was a Mason and a member of the Tangier Shrine. He went on to work for A-1 United Heating Air & Electrical with his father and sister for many years eventually attaining the title of Service Manager. He left the position to pursue his passion for traveling, spending over 3 months traveling in South America. After returning from his adventure, he worked as a technician at A-1 United for a time before once again needing to find new experiences. He moved to Aspen, Colorado and lived on the Frying Pan River in a log cabin working as a Service Manager for a leading company in the area. After 5 years of working there he wanted a change of scenery and moved to Seattle, Washington. There he managed the parts counter for a HVAC/Plumbing wholesale house. Just to get to work every morning he had to catch a ferry to downtown Seattle and ride a motorized skateboard to the shop. After dealing with Seattle rain for 3 years he decided it was finally time to come home. He returned to work at A-1 United as a service technician until he left to pursue opportunities at a few other companies until his passing.
Jerrod was a smart, adventurous, loving, funny, sensitive, and quiet man. Remembering him running around Grandma Ernie’s in the summer, lighting off fireworks, riding bicycles and motorcycles, his big heart and his tremendous love and loyalty for his friends and family. He will be dearly missed, but he is finally at peace.
Jerrod is preceded in death by his grandparents: Ray D. and Betty Barr, Fred and Ernestine Chadwell; uncle, Gary Chadwell; aunts, Lynda Saferstein and Gloria Chadwell; cousin, Steve Chadwell; and his beloved dog, Kahn.
