Jerry T. Nuffer
March 5, 1935 – January 11, 2020
Jerry Thomas Nuffer was born March 5, 1935 in Sioux Falls, SD to Albert C. Nuffer and Margaret E. (McDermot) Nuffer, and raised in Hills, MN. Jerry attended Hills School all through high school. Jerry spent 20 years in the US Air Force, joining January 1, 1954 in Sioux Falls, SD, retiring as a Master Sargent on March 31, 1974 from Offutt AFB, NE. Jerry was an Industrial Engineer. Jerry remained in the Omaha, NE area for the last 45 years.
Jerry was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church helping with Boy Scouts and boy’s baseball. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus 3019 and Fourth Degree 1854 and a member of the American Legion Post 32 in Papillion.
Jerry enjoyed his family of three children, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Together Jerry and Muriel M. (Finck) celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 2019.
Preceded in death by parents, Albert and Margaret Nuffer; son, Michael Nuffer; son-in-law, Marvin Faux; and sister, Pamela Deuser. Survived by wife, Muriel Nuffer; children, Debbie Faux and Pat Nuffer (Lynne); grandchildren: Amanda Buscher (John), Dawn Faux, Erin Becker, Scott Faux and Jason Nuffer (Jessie); great-grandchildren: Shane Buscher, Jayden Becker, Taya Becker, Kenna Buscher, Rylin Becker, TJ Nuffer and Evy Nuffer; sister, Nancy Bevilacqua.
Family will receive friends Thursday, January 16th from 6pm to 7pm, at the West Center Chapel followed by a VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Friday, January 17th, 11am, St. Bernadette Catholic Church (7600 S. 42nd St., Bellevue.) INTERMENT: Calvary Mausoleum with Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Josie Harper Hospice House.
