May 22, 1927 – February 28, 2025

Jesse Delgado, age 97 years, passed away in Omaha of natural causes on February 28, 2025.  Jesse was born in Omaha on May 22, 1927.  He was married to Erika, who was born in Germany.  They lived in Omaha all their lives.  At the age of 17, Jesse went to work for the Burlington Railroad from which he eventually retired.

Jesse served in World War II in Europe.  He also served two tours of duty in the Korean War.

Jesse’s main hobby in life was running marathons.  Over the years he ran more than 40 races.

A humble man with great integrity, Jesse loved his children: Jesse (Charli), Rick (Lovella), and Maria (Pam); his grandchildren: Sylvia, Erika (Steve), Andrea, Sean, Christopher, Matt, and CJ; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00PM at the West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Road, Omaha.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, March 7th at 10:00AM at the West Center Chapel.  INTERMENT: Calvary Cemetery with Military Honors.

    My late husband, Jim Watke, worked with Jeese for decades at BN. He had great respect for Jesse, confidence in his opinions, and considered him a valued friend. I give thanks for Jesse!
