Jo Ann Hrabik, born February 22, 1934, in Nebraska, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2024, at 10:05 pm. She was the beloved wife of the late Chuck Hrabik; and the cherished daughter of Ed and Ann Hurley; who preceded her in death. Raised in Nebraska, Jo Ann carried her deep-rooted values of family, love, and kindness throughout her life.

She was the proud and devoted mother of six children: Patti (Mark), Barb (Steve), Marijo (Steve), Chuck (Sherri), Mike (Bev), and Kathy (Jason). Jo Ann is also survived by her brother, Bob (Sharon); and was the loving grandmother to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who brought her immense joy and pride; grandchildren: Nick (Crystal), Zach (Lindsey), Jared (Alaina), Tiffany, Michael, Matt (Amanda), Emily (Austin), Dani (Andy), Kyle (Ashley), Blake, Alexa (Matt), Evan, Kaylene (Jared), Jake, Matt (Lanni), Cami, and Ethan (Chandler); great-grandchildren: Xander, Athena, Zoe, Berkley, Maddox, Murphy, Edison, Dorian, Brecken, Kenley, Brody, Sophia, Ella Jo, Huxton, Delaney, Cooper, Brooks, Javen, Jent, and Carson.

Jo Ann wore many hats throughout her life. She worked for the Sarpy County Treasurer’s Office, contributed to political campaigns and elections, and held positions at AT&T/Lucent Technologies, and the Papillion Times. But perhaps most famously, she was known by many as “the Avon Lady,” building connections and friendships throughout her community.

A founding member of St. Bernadette’s Church, Jo Ann was devoted to her faith. She could always be found in the second-to-last pew on the right; her steadfast presence, a comfort to many. Her deep connection to her church and faith guided her throughout her life.

Jo Ann’s life was a testament to her strength, resilience, and unwavering commitment to her family, faith, and community. She will be remembered for her generous heart and the countless memories she created with those she loved.

VIGIL SERVICE: Thursday September 26, 2024, at 7:00PM at West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Road, Omaha with VISITATION from 5:30-7:00PM

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL:  Friday, September 27, 2024, at 10:30AM at St. Bernadette Catholic Church, 7600 S. 42nd St., Bellevue, NE.

INTERMENT: St. John Cemetery, Bellevue, NE
