Joan E. Lee

Joan E. Lee

October 23, 1933 – December 24, 2024

Joan Elizabeth (Morris) Lee was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, and moved to Omaha as a junior in high school, when her dad got a job with Fairmont Foods. She graduated from Benson High School and then, in 1954, Clarkson School of Nursing. She married a neighbor, John Lee, in 1956. With breaks for raising her five children, she worked as a nurse at Clarkson until 1998, when she retired and moved to Florida, where she volunteered at the local hospital and community theater. Joan remained an avid reader to her final days and never lost her love for the ocean.

She is survived by her children: Tamara Lee, Thomas Lee, Kathy Lee, Karen Le Bron, and Joe Lee and their spouses/partners, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
