Joan M. Ratigan

RATIGAN, Joan M. Dec 29, 1939 – Mar 30, 2013 On March 30, 2013, Joan M. Ratigan lost her battle with leukemia in Omaha, Neb. Mrs. Ratigan was born in Omaha on December 29, 1939, and graduated from Mercy High School. She married Eugene Ratigan on July 4, 1959, and worked as a teller, secretary, mother and homemaker. Joan enjoyed cooking, baking, and taking care of the grandchildren. She particularly enjoyed spending time with family and friends on holidays and special occasions. She loved nature and had a quiet reverence for everyday miracles. She also loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus, with all her heart. Joan is survived by her beloved husband, Eugene F. Ratigan; son, Michael P. Ratigan; granddaughters, Dani Lynn and Lacey Renee; great-granddaughter, Bridget Reaves; brothers, Ron Hazuka and Daniel Hazuka; sisters, Carol Gonzalez (Mike) and Deb Molek (Dave); sister-in-law, Linda Hazuka; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by daughter, Michelle M. Ratigan; parents, Anton and Caroline Hazuka; brother, Anthony Hazuka. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 2 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the West Center Chapel. The family invites all Joan’s friends to celebrate her life at SERVICES on Wednesday, April 3 at 1:00 p.m. at Spirit Life Assemblies of God Church, 4815 Harrison. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to Open Door Mission, Catholic Charities, or Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
