Jody L. Stanley
November 15, 1963 – March 1, 2020
Jody was born November 15, 1963 to Al and Toni Marquette in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was the last of five Children, two brothers and two sisters. Roxanne, Sherry, Randy and Danny. Jody was the baby.
In 1983, Jody was living in Junction City, Kansas, where she met a young soldier named Fred. Six years later, on July 15, 1989 Jody married her wonderful husband, Fred and for 31 years he swept her off her feet. The two of them shared a fairytale romance, not only as husband and wife, but as best friends. Together they created two daughters, Kahla and Aleah, whom Jody loved very much. Jody also shared the love with her stepdaughter, Kia, whom she loved just as much as her own.
Jody loved live bands, traveling, fishing, Mexican food, and so much more. But nothing was more important to her than spending time with her family. She loved fishing with Fred, going on shopping and nail salon adventures with Kahla, and sneaking out to eat at different restaurants with Aleah. Jody loved family functions at the lake, pontoon rides were her favorite. The most important highlight of Jody’s life was her grandson, Armani. Jody and Armani would lay in bed together at night and watch tv. She looked forward to picking Armani up from kindergarten every day and every day she found joy by sneaking him to McDonalds after school for happy meals and chocolate chip cookies.
Jody was the most generous woman. She wore her heart on her sleeve and would give the shirt off her back to anybody. She was truly a remarkable woman and will be missed dearly.
Survived by husband, Fred; daughters, Kahla Stanley and Aleah Stanley; stepdaughter, Kia Stanley; grandson, Armani Stanley; and sister, Roxanne Merksick.
Family will receive friends Sunday, March 8th from 5pm to 7pm, at the West Center Chapel. FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, March 9th, 10:30am, West Center Chapel. INTERMENT: Monday, 2pm, Omaha National Cemetery.
