John was born at the Lutheran Hospital in Columbus, Nebraska.  He lived near Creston, Nebraska, before moving to Fremont, Nebraska, at an early age.  John  graduated from Fremont High School in 1968. He completed an electronics course from United Electronics Institute in West Des Moines, Iowa, and became a certified Bio-Med Technician. John worked at St. Joseph Hospital, Bergan Mercy Hospital, NARCO and Universal Hospital Services before retiring in 2015.  He married Glenda  on July 30, 1983 and together they had two children, Jeremy Dale and Stefanie Ann.

John loved doing anything as long as he could be outdoors, like chopping wood, organizing garages, taking the dogs for a walk, looking for corncobs in the field.  He enjoyed hunting turkey, pheasant, and deer, playing softball and golf.  John was also a fan of Nebraska football, even though they aren’t doing so well at the moment.

John was preceded in death by parents, Nadine and Dale Bachmann; sister, Karen Bachmann; parents-in-law, Shirley and Arthur Schmid.  He is survived by wife, Glenda Bachmann; son, Jeremy Bachmann  (Ellie); daughter, Stefanie Daigle (Eric); grandchildren: Karsyn Palu, Gracelyn Palu, Remington Daigle; brother, Ron Bachmann (Cathy); many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He will be missed by many friends and relatives, but is now in  God’s loving arms.
