Jason James Trummer

December 22, 1981 – July, 2022

Jason is survived by his wife, Brandy and dog, Griffey; mother, Maggie McCrea (Jim); father, Jim Trummer; sisters, Michelle Schroeder (Adam) and Marti Cabrera (Nestor); mother-in-law, Linda Spiegel; sisters-in-law, Michelle Tomjack (Chris) and Kristy McCready (Erick); grandmothers, Marilee Niewohner and Lorraine McCrea; nine nieces and nephews. Jason was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Peggy Lavelle, Jack and Julie Trummer; three uncles; and father-in-law, Dave Spiegel.

Jason graduated from St. Robert’s Grade School, Skutt Catholic High School, and in 2006, from University of Nebraska at Lincoln.  Possessing two Master’s Degrees, Jason was an educator for sixteen years and worked many summers for Arctic Glacier.

Jason was an avid sports lover, especially the Creighton Bluejays.  He had the biggest heart, the best dance moves, and the loudest laugh. He was smart, compassionate, and always taking care of things before you even needed to ask. Jason was an excellent athlete and loved all things sports. He was an amazing uncle, son, and brother, but an even better husband. He was so loved and will be greatly missed by so many people. He always put his everything into everything.

Our deepest condolences. Jason was a man I met thru friends, Phil and Doug. Over the past 12 years or so, I had the pleasure of hanging out with Jason, usually at Bucky Dexter’s lounge, where I also met his wife, Brandy. Jason was always animated and interesting to talk to, especially considering that we both were in education and coaching. I loved his energy and passion for life. He will be missed by many. I can imagine that he will be giving sports lessons to willing students in heaven, and be scoring many birdies and eagles for eternity.

I’m deeply saddened to read coach Jason is no longer with us . He was a real stand up guy. Admire the man , and he will always have a place in my mind and heart. The things he stood for and represented will stay behind and live on through me and the other youth . Rip Jason Trummer & father Flannigan !

Jason was a selfless individual. Anything I asked him to do for our football program he would do without reservation. I had to smile when reading above about his loud laugh. I don’t know how many times I uttered the words, “Jason you are so damn loud”. He will be greatly missed. Prayers to Brandy and family.

Our prayers to Maggie and Jim, Brandy and family. I’ll always think of Jason as the little boy making dirt piles in our slow pitch dugout as his mom was our pitcher. What an inspiration he was to many in his forty years.
