John M. Burbridge

John Michael Burbridge was born September 26, 1947 in Pisgah, IA to Hilda (Voss) and Jack Burbridge. John graduated Missouri Valley High School in 1964. He served with the Iowa National Guards, while being in the National Guards he worked at the Napa store in Missouri Valley and drove truck for his dad. He eventually bought into as co-owner of Missouri Valley Motor Parts. He drove truck for David Pickle, eventually starting Burbridge Trucking and then going onto contracting with the Omaha World Herald until his death. In 1967, John married Donna Belt at the First Lutheran Church in Missouri Valley IA. They were blessed with four children. Michael and wife Julie, Mark and wife Jessica, Julie and husband Gregg, and Christopher and fiancé Amber and her son Cole. He was blessed with four granddaughters Asia, Kayli, Lindsey & Karley. One grandson Kaleb. Two step-granddaughters Kelsey & Justina and one great-granddaughter Jocalyn. Other survivors include brother Richard “Dick” and wife Marge. Several nephews and one niece. John was an honest, hardworking, soft spoken man who never complained about the struggles in life. He was strong with his faith. He loved having all his family together, he loved being able to spend time with his grandkids. John will always be remembered by the two things he said the most. No matter how he was feeling his response to “how are you today” was ALWAYS “FANTASTIC” and no matter what whenever he would pay any type of bill he would always say “Is that with my discount” Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church in Missouri Valley, Iowa. It was Johns wish to be cremated and have his final resting place at the Grange Cemetery at a later date. In Loving Memory Of John M.
