Hughes, John R. Jack Apr 26, 1921 Mar 17, 2010 Born in Omaha, NE to Enos J. Hughes and Stella Smith Hughes. Graduated from Omaha Technical High School in 1939 and received degrees from the University of Omaha and the University of Southern California. He taught in the Omaha Public Schools from 1948 until his retirement in 1981, at Highland, Saratoga, and Windsor elementary schools. He served in the U.S. Army for two and a half years during World War II in the United States, England, and France. John was preceded in death by his parents and his foster brother, Don F. Nelsen. He is survived by cousins, Marlene Russell and John Smith, and many other cousins. No services are planned.
