DISTEFANO, John (Rosario) Mar 28, 1931 Mar 9, 2014 Age 82, of Bella Vista, Arkansas, formerly of Omaha; passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014, at his home. Born March 28, 1931, in Omaha, the son of Guiseppe Compagna and Giovanni Distefano. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the Bella Vista American Legion. He was an avid hunter and trap shooter. After retiring in 1992, he moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, where he enjoyed golfing and traveling. He remained an avid Big Red fan and belonged to the Bella Vista Nebraska Club. He was preceded in death by parents; one brother, Sam Distefano;a two sisters, Louise Monaco and Rose Lacina. He is survived by Sharry Distefano, his wife of 31 years; son, John Distefano and wife, Carol, of Glendale, Arizona; daughters: Sherry Distefano of Omaha, Cindy Hall and husband, Stu, of Lincoln, Lisa Higgins, of Omaha, Celinda Mason and husband, Jack, of Lincoln; son, Bryan Edsill and partner, Lolly, of Tekamah; twenty grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren. MEMORIAL SERVICE Friday, March 21st at 10am at the West Center Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Bella Vista Community Church, 75 E.
