Tom was born John Thomas Farrell “Tom” on May 14, 1932 to Edmund and Elizabeth (Waite) Farrell. He grew up in South Omaha and attended St. Agnes Grade School and continued his schooling at St. Joseph High. Tom was drafted in the Army and was stationed in Korea for two years. After the Korean war, Tom met the love of his life, Leone Sledge; they were married on May 17, 1958 in Omaha. Tom and Leone had six children, twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Tom followed his father’s footsteps in the cattle business with Snyder Malone for 60 years. He was an avid Notre Dame fan and found humor placing a Pick-6 Wager right before “his ride” wanted to leave the horse track. He was the most soft-spoken, easy going and generous man who will be missed by many. Tom passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family.
