John W. “Jack” Schrieber
August 26, 1945 – December 18, 2018
Jack’s fondest memories were of a childhood on his family’s farm outside of Coleridge, Nebraska. He later moved to Coleridge and then Wayne, where he graduated from Wayne High School and Wayne State College. A gifted musician, he initially taught instrumental music before moving to Omaha and beginning a career at the Omaha World Herald, where he stayed for almost 50 years.
His greatest joys in life were his wife, children, and grandson, followed closely by the Huskers and the Saint Louis Cardinals. Brilliant, kind, and quick to laugh, he was known for his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by parents, Wilda “Peggy” and William “Bill” Schrieber; sister Nondyce “Noni” Young; and niece, Mindy Schrieber. He is survived by wife, Teri Schrieber; son, Jeff (Kylie) Schrieber; daughter, Sara (Jared) Annin; grandson, Bennett Schrieber; brother, Harley (Roma) Schrieber; sister, Julie (Mike) Mills; and many nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: Wednesday, Dec. 26th from 10am to 11am at the West Center Chapel, followed by FUNERAL SERVICE at 11am. Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park. Memorials are suggested to Wag N Train Terrier Rescue.
