August 5, 1942 – May 13, 2024

Jolene Fields, daughter of Morris and Doris (Brown) Wilson and devoted wife of Gary, was born August 5, 1942, in Omaha, NE, and passed away May 13, 2024, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, at the age of 81.

She attended Thomas Jefferson High School graduating in the class of 1960. Jolene worked for the City of Council Bluffs in various roles retiring in 1998. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and served as church treasurer for over 38 years. Singing in the church choir was a passion of hers. Jolene thoroughly enjoyed traveling with her and Gary’s Shriner friends for several years. She also served as First Lady of Tangier in 2007. She cherished time with her children and their spouses, her four grandchildren often beating them in Yahtzee or Shang-Hai, and her two great-grandchildren.

Jolene was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Staci Diane, parents, Morris and Doris Wilson, in-laws, Ola and Dorothy Fields, sister, Linda Beezley, brothers, Jerry Wilson and E.J. Wilson, brother-in-law, Jack Fields, and sister-in-law, Sandy Fields.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 62 years, Gary Fields, daughter and son-in-law, Stephani and Doug Kittle of Aurora, Ne, son and daughter-in-law Tim and Agnes Fields of Council Bluffs, IA, grandchildren, Taylor (Mitch) Peters of Kearney, NE, Jacob Kittle (Maya Arrigo) of Lincoln, NE, Morgan Fields of Omaha, NE, and Nathan Fields of Council Bluffs, IA, great-grandchildren, Eliza and Ledger Peters.

Visitation with the family will be on Friday from 5 – 7 p.m. Funeral Service Saturday at 10:30 a.m., all at the Cutler O’Neill Meyer Woodring Funeral Home. Burial at Walnut Hill Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the Walnut Hill Reception Center, 1350 E. Pierce Street.

Memorials are suggested to the Shrine Patient Transportation Fund or a charity of the donor’s choice.
