Jonathan Nicholas Smith “Johnny” passed away on June 17th in Omaha Nebraska at the age of 27 after a brave battle with cancer.

He is preceded in death by Andrew C.M. Jacobsen (uncle, M), Susan D. Smith (grandmother, P), Dwight E. Wilcox (great grandfather, M). He is survived by his parents Terrence M. II & Shanna Smith (Jacobsen). His grandparents Terrence M. Smith (P), Terrence M. & Cindy A. Jacobsen (M). His great grandparents Sherree Wilcox (M), and Judith Evans (M). His aunts and uncles (M) Terrence D. Jacobsen, Tara & Tyler Kush, Paige Jacobsen, Chance Jacobsen, (P) Jessica & Justin McAdams, Jonathan & JoAnne Smith, Justin & Cassandra Smith, and a very large number of cousins.

Johnny had an outgoing personality, was quick-witted, smart, and had a great sense of humor. He enjoyed gaming online and board games with his family. He brought laughter, smiles, and joy to everyone around him. Our hearts are broken by his passing.

Johnny graduated with his associates degree from Metro Community College and his bachelor’s degree from Bellevue University while concurrently battling an aggressive cancer. He was initiated into the Kappa Beta Delta Phi business society, was a legal Notary Public in the state of Nebraska, and officiated his first wedding as an ordained minister of Universal Life Church in 2021.

Visitation will be held Saturday, June 24, from 3-5 pm at Heafey Hoffman Dworak Cutler at 7805 West Center Road in Omaha Nebraska.

Family and friends are invited to attend.

    I’m so sorry for your loss. Johnny accomplished so much during his life, even while fighting cancer at the same time. His smile and sense of humor will be missed. My thoughts are with you during this difficult time.

    Johnny was such a fun and interesting guy, and he accomplished so much in the short time he had. He is truly inspiring, and I know he is deeply missed.

    Johnny was really a gem of a person, one of the coolest and funniest people I’ve ever met. It’s an honor to have been a friend and know this person. Words cannot express how much he’ll be missed.

    We will all miss Johnny so much. He always put smiles on the faces of those around him and was such a positive spirit. We will always cherish him in our hearts and hold on to our memories with him. I love you guys, I’ll always be here for you!
