Longtime member of West Omaha Rotary. Faithful parishioner of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by daughters, Theresa Fitzgerald and Susan Hughes; brothers, Anthony and Charles; sister, Anastasia. Survived by wife, Edie; daughters, Karen Ann DeHeer and Christine (Stephen) Johnson; nine grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Celeste (Rex) Earl.
VIGIL SERVICE: Monday, May 9th, 7pm at the West Center Chapel with family receiving friends from 5pm to 7pm. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Tuesday, May 10th, 10:30am at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, 15353 Pacific. Entombment: Resurrection Mausoleum with military honors.
Memorials are suggested to the Children’s Respite Care Center.

It was always great to visit with Joe at Rotary. Rest in peace, Joe.
Nan and I want to express both of our most heartfelt and sincere condolences to our dear Aunt Edie and family for Uncle Joe. He will be profoundly missed but will always be present in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace Uncle Joe; we love you!
