Preceded in death by wife, Mary Claire Vitek. Survived by children: Jim Vitek (Laura), John Vitek, Alice Freeman, Joseph Vitek, Bart Vitek, and Barb Vitek; grandchildren, Jake Hayes (Whitney), Jason Vitek, Lauren Hayes, Sarah, Maxwell Vitek; great-grandson, Ellis Hayes; sister, Georgia Mozis.
VISITATION begins Friday, March 3rd at 7pm at St Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 11802 Pacific in Omaha, followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 7:30pm at the church. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL Saturday, March 4th at 10am at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery with military honors. Memorials are suggested to American Diabetes Association.

Our thoughts are with the family at this time. Mr. Vitek was an old friend and mentor when we both worked in the Nebraska Department of Corrections. He will be fondly remembered.

Your dad was a lovely gentleman, one whom my own dad admired very much. Lang and I will be there tomorrow to pay our respects.
