I have worked with Joe for eight years at Lauritsen Gardens and we always talked hunting and who could shoot the biggest deer. We shared an office together and we got to know each other pretty well. Joe will be missed very much. I want to say that I am very sorry for your loss. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know. Dennis Kreifels

I am sorry to hear about Joe. I remember getting up early on Saturday and Sunday to deliver news papers with him. It’s been years since I’ve seen Joe, but I still remember. Lots of great time in that neighborhood. Joe was a big part of it. Sorry for everyone’s loss. God rest your soul Joe. Hunting season in heaven never ends.

Although I never met Joe or son Zach, I have worked with Joe’s nephew Alex for 10+ years and have heard countless stories of the positive impact Joe had on Alex and Zach in their early life with construction and home building all the way to recent times with great stories of hunting, fishing, and construction remodel projects. I am very sorry for your loss. Joe was a very positive light in this life and his spirit will live on in the stories/memories of family and friends for several lifetimes.

I feel as if a small part of me has just passed. Joe was an integral part of my teenage years, a positive influence in every way imaginable and always good for a laugh. He was a hard working man, tough as nails on the exterior but kind, considerate and compassionate on the interior. I always looked up to him as a mentor and a role model. Joe, heaven just became a little bit brighter with your presence, Thank you for all the great memories!

My deepest condolences to Louise and family. This past week at Lauritzen Gardens putting in the Christmas Display has really been difficult with no Joe there. As a volunteer in the Model Train Garden Joe was always there to help us, be it giving us a ride, helping rebuild tracks or whatever. Joe was always ready and willing to help any of us. Over the past 15 years he has become a great friend. Rest in peace dear friend .
