Joseph Robert Gasnick, 87. Preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Alberta Gasnick; brother, Raymond and sister-in-law Maggie; son, Michael; and grandchildren, Aaron and Caitlin Gasnick. He is survived by Marilyn, his loving wife of 65 years; sons, Joseph (Jody) and Terry of Omaha; daughters: Mary Gasnick Reis of Frederick, MD, Melissa Gasnick Cloeter of Omaha, Margaret Gasnick of Kansas City, and Polly Foley (Brooks) of Cary, IL; nineteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Born in Omaha, Joe was a 1949 graduate of Creighton Prep High School, and a graduate of Creighton University. He married his sweetheart, Marilyn Schulte, on July 19, 1952, and together they raised a family of seven children. He worked for many years for Employers Mutual Casualty Co. A man of strong faith, he was devoted to the Rosary. He was an active bridge player, outdoorsman, and handyman who could fix almost anything.
VISITATION begins at 5pm on Thursday, Feb. 22nd at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 6905 Blondo, followed by WAKE SERVICE & ROSARY at 7pm. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL on Friday, Feb. 23rd at 10:30am, St. Pius X Church. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Pius X Parish.
