Gunis, Joseph R. May 22, 1924 – Nov 14, 2011 Omaha. Retired Northern Natural Gas Co. Employee. WWII U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. Life long member of St. Peter & Paul Church. Preceded in death by beloved wife, Dorothy of 54 years. Survived by daughter, Teresa & husband Dallan Vogel, Papillion; grandchildren, Joseph & special friend, Tina Kaeding, Omaha; Tracey & husband Robert Brousek, Bellevue; much loved great granddaughters, Kathleen & Marie Jean Brousek; dear friend, Phyllis Knicky, Bellevue; sister in law, Marjorie Gartner, Aurora, CO; many nieces, nephews, and friends. VISITATION: Thursday, Nov. 17, 4-8pm at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Omaha. VIGIL SERVICE: Thursday, Nov. 17, 6:30 pm at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 36th & X St. Omaha. FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, Nov. 18, 10am at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Omaha. Interment: Calvary Cemetery. Full Military Honors by Benson VFW #2503. Memorials to Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Joe & his unforgettable handshake will be missed by all.
