Joseph S. Bellus

August 30, 1941 – February 6, 2023

Joseph Stephen Bellus was born in Omaha to Andrew and Irene on August 30, 1941. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1959 and worked as a computer programmer at Union Pacific for 33 years.

Joseph loved horses and his favorite little dog, Eugene Bellus. He was a longtime supporter of the Little League, where he coached for 14 years. He was an avid golfer with a scratch handicap at one point.

Joseph showered his grandkids with lots of love. He was also an unpublished author, sang in the church choir, and acted in church plays with his sons.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Monica; parents, Andrew and Irene; sister, Theresa; brother, Mike; and brothers-in-law: Ed Haley, Jim Clark, and Roger Stark; sister-in-law, Theresa.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Bellus; sons: Stephen J. Bellus (Angie) of London, England; Paul G. Bellus (Sharon) of Iowa City, Iowa; Greg F. Bellus (Lisa) of Kansas City, Missouri; grandchildren: Kayanna Tromler (Scott), Xander Bellus, Stephanie Bellus; great-grandchildren, Forest Tromler and Quinn Tromler; and 13 siblings.
