Josephine A. Aliano
January 17, 1950 – June 12, 2025
Josephine A. Aliano, 75, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025.
Born on January 17, 1950, in Omaha to George and Grace Kaiser, Josephine was one of seven children. At the age of five, she and her siblings were separated and placed into different homes. She spent the next four years at St. James Orphanage in Omaha, where her lifelong strength and resilience began to shine.
At age nine, Josephine was adopted by Frank and Helen Zieons and joined their family alongside their daughter Helen, who became Josephine’s adoptive sister. Growing up, she attended many schools as the family moved frequently, and she developed a deep sense of independence and determination that would guide her throughout her life.
At 19, Josephine married and became a devoted mother to three daughters. Though her marriage later ended in divorce, she faced single motherhood with unmatched strength, working tirelessly to provide a loving home for her children. Her fierce work ethic, quiet determination, and unwavering love were the foundation on which her family was built.
Later in life, Josephine was blessed to reunite with her biological siblings, forming close and meaningful bonds with several of them. These reconnections brought healing and joy, and she treasured the time they shared.
Josephine was preceded in death by her biological parents, George and Grace Kaiser; her adoptive parents, Frank and Helen Zieons; and her sisters Rita and Georgina.
She is survived by her daughters: Carolyn Aliano, Renae Gellatly (Travis), and Debbie Feuquay (Chad); her beloved grandchildren: Ricky, Ryan, Paige, Cooper, Landen, Aliana, and Derek; her sisters: Barbara Duffy and Helen Hilton; and many other cherished family members and friends.
Josephine’s life was a testament to strength, resilience, and unconditional love. She faced adversity with grace, and her legacy lives on in the lives of those she loved and inspired. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Services will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, 15353 Pacific Street, Omaha, NE 68154.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family, who will distribute them to various charities and causes in Josephine’s honor.
A special thanks to Brookstone Village and Suncrest Hospice for all of their care, love, and support. Your kindness and compassion meant so much during this difficult time.
