Josephine Marian Talarico, age 87, loving mother and adoring wife to the late husband, John Talarico, passed away peacefully on January 13, 2022.  Josie was born on April 26, 1934, in Chicago and grew up surrounded by her large family in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1950, she met and married John.  They went on to have six children and were happily married for 54 years. Josie and John lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for 28 years, later in life, where she developed a healthy love of poker machines and all-you-can-eat buffets.  Josie was a nurse/med aid for 22 years and she prided herself in being a beloved caretaker.  Eventually, she went on to become a supervisor of housekeeping at various hotels in Vegas.  She moved back to Omaha in 2010 where she enjoyed being close to many of her children and grandchildren.  She was known as a loving, caring woman who always enjoyed a good inappropriate joke and was never late for a bingo night.

Josie joins her husband, John, siblings: Katie, Francie, Bridget, and Jim; son Mark in  heaven.

Josie is survived by her five children: Frank (Peggy), Joe, Margaret (Sheridan), Marian (Larry), Richard (Nancy); grandchildren: Christy (Rob), Jon (Sara), Steve (Tiffany), Angela (Tim), Amy, Sheri (Jacob), Nate, Kaitlyn, Kalie, LJ, Vincent, and Macey; great-grandchildren: Alex, Colton (Erica), Alea, Ryley, Maddy, Annabeth, Aubrielle, and Ellison; great-great- grandchildren, Ally and Briella; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pallbearers: Sheridan Binkly, Larry Smith, Jacob Tebben, Tim Royers, Robert Magers, Dean Wells.

Special thanks to Brookstone Meadows for their exceptional care and kindness while Josie  was with them.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.  This was Josie’s favorite organization to support.
