I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Joyce. She was such a huge part of the Egan and Freshman and extended family. She was always an encouragement to me when I was going through tough family stuff. She was a light to all. She will be greatly missed and I know your hearts are heavy. You are in our thoughts and prayers. I appreciate that Liz let our part of the family know. I send you hugs from NC.

Joyce was a magnificent teacher. She loved those kids of hers. She was bound and determined that they would not only learn their academics, but they would know how to work towards goals. There were no gifts —except for the love, encouragement she gave, and expectations she set for each student.. Always enthusiastic, always willing to help—and she will always be in our hearts.

I am so sorry to hear of Joyce’s passing. Joyce was a beautiful human being and loved by myself and many, I know. I worked with her at Beveridge and she always had a smile and warm greeting. May our good Lord comfort you and your family in your loss.

    Dear Egan Family,

We are so very sorry for the loss of your lovely mother, Joyce. We had the pleasure of meeting your mom about five years ago. She invited us to a birthday party she held for Jean Carusi. She was quite the hostess and her home and yard so very beautiful. She and her friends subsequently came to hear Mike play at Gorat’s several times. She had an infectious smile and upbeat attitude. I so enjoyed hearing about her teaching career. What a gem of a person! We are grateful that we made her acquaintance. Sending prayers and hugs. Elaine Flaxbeard and Mike Gurciullo
