Juanita “Jan” Marie (Haich) Yeager was born May 12, 1951, in Dickinson, ND, the daughter of Felix and Mary (Sickler) Haich. She grew up on a farm north of Gladstone, ND, the third of ten children. She graduated from Trinity High School in Dickinson, ND. She later attended Mary College in Bismark, ND, and became a Registered Nurse in October of 1973. Jan married Jeffrey Yeager on July 31, 1980, at the Presbyterian Church of the Cross in Omaha, NE. To this union, 2 children were born: Leah and Laura. After moving to Omaha, she worked at Midwest Allergy and Asthma Clinic in Omaha, NE. Jan finished out her nursing career as a school nurse in Millard Public Schools in Omaha, NE, from which she retired after 25 years in the district. Jan loved to volunteer and spent 10 years serving as a summer camp nurse at Camp Calvin Crest in Fremont, NE, alongside family and many dear friends. Jan loved her grandchildren deeply and was able to care for both of them during their formative years until they went to preschool. She enjoyed watching them grow and thrive in school, sports, and spiritually. In her free time, Jan enjoyed reading and taking long walks, but above all, she loved spending time with her family and many close friends. The Yeager family will be in our prayers. It only takes a quick moment to realize what a family this is. Their love for each other and their God will allow them to remember all the wonderful moments shared with their Jan.
I had the privilege of working with Jan as her Para in the health room at Holling Heights for several years. She was a beautiful person inside and out, very dedicated, kind and caring to the children and staff. I treasure her warm friendship. My prayers go out to Jan’s family. May God surround you with his love and comfort you with peaceful memories.
