Judith J. Ruffcorn

Judith J (Motz) Ruffcorn age, 75 of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at her residence in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Judy was born November 29, 1939 in Missouri Valley, Iowa to Lester “Tater” Motz and Trudy (Dodge) Motz. Judy was raised on a farm outside of Modale, Iowa until her family moved to Missouri Valley, Iowa her senior year of high school where she graduated with honors. After graduation she lived in town and worked as a book keeper for a senior/handicap care center, ironed clothes for a nickel a shirt, she waitressed at the Tamarack Steak Restaurant, and worked aa book keeper at the Logan Mill Purina for a number of years. After retiring she recommitted herself and completed a Bachelors Degree in Business at Bellevue University. Judy enjoyed a number of activities which included golfing, where she had “a hole in one” at the Logan-Mo Valley Country Club. She was an avid bowler at the Missouri Valley Tamarack Bowling Alley where she bowled in leagues and traveled each year with her team states/cities near and far for Nationals. Judy very much enjoyed life, people, and visiting, and did so by participating at many social events like card playing, casino play, The Eagles Friday Night Fish Fry, volunteer work at the Methodist Church where she attended, devoted her time to helping at the hospital gift shop and delivered lunches from the Rand Center to senior residents in town. But if Judy had passion, it clearly was spending time with her adorable dog, Sofie and decorating her home inside and outside with all her holiday spirit. She was recognized one year for one of the best Christmas decorated yards in the town Judy was preceded in death by her parents, husbands: Freddy Smith, Jerry Webber, and Robert Ruffcorn, her younger brother Jim Motz, children: JoAnn Kay (Smith) Taylor and infant Fredrick Robert Smith. Survivors include her children: Robert Smith of Phoenix, AZ., LuAnn Trumble and husband Mike of Aberdeen, MD., Jerry Webber and partner Renne Dooley of Missouri Valley, Iowa, grandchildren: Ryan Gerald Taylor and wife Lucinda of Cadiz, Ohio, Kayla Marie Taylor and great grandson Cohen Jayce Taylor, Katie and Tyler Torres of Virginia, sisters: Janel McGinley and husband Doug of Valley, AL., Peggy Motz, El Paso, TX., brothers: Jerry Motz and long time partner Carol of Phoenix, AZ, Don Motz and wife Joanne of Houston, TX, Ron Motz and wife Diann of Brownton, MN. Visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Eagles Club in Missouri Valley, Iowa Final Resting Place will be at Oak Grove Cemetery.
