VISITATION: Saturday, April 2nd at 9:30am with VIGIL SERVICE at 9:45am, followed by MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL at 10:30am, all at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 6116 Dodge Street.  Interment: Resurrection Cemetery.

Judy Kay DiGiacomo, loving mother of four passed away on March 15, 2022 at 3:28 pm.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard DiGiacomo; mother, June Ellis; father, Richard Ellis.

She was born on July 10, 1943, in Sterling, Illinois, and moved to Marietta, Georgia as a young girl.  Judy moved to Omaha, Nebraska while in high school where she met Richard DiGiacomo.  She leaves behind four children, three sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law: Cathy Lopez (Ray), Denise Wharton (Tom), Richard DiGiacomo (Alexia Galakatos), Judy Tanida (Isaku); eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren;  five siblings: Connie Noble (Chuck), Christine Swain (Tom), Patricia (Reina) Ellis, Rick Ellis (Karen), Robert Colcord. 

While in Omaha, she worked for Angelo’s Restaurant as a hostess, went on to own her own business, and then moved to California.  Judy spent over 20 years of her life as a personal assistant to very prominent people in California and Arizona.  Her last role in Arizona was with Aqua Tots for seven years.  All the children at Aqua Tots called her “Grandma Judy”.  Judy ultimately ended back in Omaha where she lived out her final days.

She was known mostly by her amazing sense of humor, bright smile, and resilient sense of determination. Judy will be remembered as a loving, witty, beautiful person whose laughter and smile will be with us always.

    I remember your mom from when were kids going to school at St. Margaret Marys. I am so sorry for your loss!

    I miss your feet…your smile….your laugh…your twinkle. Your tickles. Most of all, I miss us. The two Judes.
