Julie Ann Buda
September 19, 1953 – October 15, 2023
Julie Ann Damgaard was born September 19, 1953, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Earl and Eleanor Damgaard. She moved frequently during childhood due to Earl’s job, and ended up in Omaha, Nebraska, where she graduated from Bryan High in 1971. She met Joe Buda at Elmwood Park where he was on stage playing guitar. They married on July 2, 1976, and had four children. They exemplified a loving, devoted marriage for over 47 years until her passing. She worked in Loss Prevention at United Parcel Service (UPS) for 42 and a half years, retiring in 2015, when diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis. Despite this condition, Julie lived a full, happy life, and found joy in its simplest pleasures. She was kind, loving, sweet and cherished her children; always making sure they “take lots of pictures” to capture memories. She had a deep faith in Jesus (her Bible is full of highlights and notes) and saw God’s handiwork in all things, especially in nature. She spread the love of God through her reflections on Facebook, which touched many. Her faith in Christ carried her through to the end, trusting that no matter what happened, it was His plan.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Eleanor Damgaard. She is survived by husband, Joe Buda; children: Joey (Christine) Buda, Jacqueline Buda, Jessie (Michael) Loewen, and Josh Buda; brother, Jeff Damgaard; sister, Rhonda (George) Obradovich; grandson, Augie Loewen, and two granddaughters on the way.

Dear Budas, you are all in my prayers! I’m so sorry for your loss. Julie was a precious sister in the Lord to me, a true one of a kind lady. She loved Jesus so much, and her family was a close second. I cannot be there due to covid, but I send my love to you all. She truly was a “Jewel” and I look forward to seeing her one day in heaven. Her faith inspired me in mine…. Carry her legacy well, love people and love God the way she did! Hugs!
I’m blessed to have so many wonderful and varied memories of Julie through the years. Cheerleading, at Bryan High School, pep rallies, skits, clinics, camps, etc. She truly.was an angel on earth! Now she’s at peace without pain in our Lord’s care forever more! All who knew Julie loved her and will not forget her!!

Such kindness & joy from her face and eyes comes as no surprise. I know she will be missed, but forever remain in hearts as well. I pray to Christ for continued strength for the Buda family of which I’m sure through faith there is much.
This is the saddest news, a light so bright has gone from us. Julie’s genuine love for God and people was a blessing to us all, we have to live on honoring her in how we love God and others. My deepest condolences to the Buda family…
Our deepest sympathies to her friends and family during this difficult time. May God’s peace wash over all of you.
I met Julie and Joe and family only one time in Austin which is nearby our home in Georgetown. But I felt an immediate connection to them through their vibrant and sincere love of God and Savior Jesus Christ. This short encounter was brought about bc our son Trent is engaged to their lovely and wonderful daughter Jackie! Julie and I exchanged cards and texts over the last 2 years. I feel as though I knew her through my growing relationship with Jackie who I know to be a loving and caring wonderful daughter to Julie and Joe.. Julie…Steve and I will meet you again one day in heaven and will be friends in Paradise where there’s no illness, pain or sorrow! Hallelujah and praise God! To Joe, Joey, Jackie, Jess and Josh I share your grief and extend my condolences. 🙏❤️🙏
With all our love from Texas

Julie was one of the sweetest people we have ever known. We never saw her without a smile on her face. Her love for Jesus was shared with everyone. We’re so thankful that we have the assurance where Julie is and will spend eternity….at the feet of her precious Jesus….breathing freely and deeply. We will miss you, Julie. May the knowledge of her presence with Jesus comfort you, Joe and family. She was greatly loved.
Even thou she was battling her disease she helped me cope with my COPD. A lot of people claim to be Christians but Julie and Joe lived it. Julie was a very special person and she will be missed by anyone who ever met her. My thoughts and prayers go out the family
