Julie L. Baumert

Julie L. Baumert

January 10, 1966-October 28, 2024

Julie Lynn (Osborn) Baumert, 58, of Omaha, passed away on October 28, 2024, of complications from pneumonia.

Born on January 10, 1966, in Norfolk, Nebraska, Julie was an accomplished and deeply devoted individual. A Summa Cum Laude graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University with an MBA from the University of Nebraska, Julie built a successful career as an executive recruiter. After years in the industry, she founded her own firm, JMark Search. Yet for Julie, these achievements were just a means to her true calling: helping others. She found fulfillment in recruiting by fostering growth in companies and guiding individuals to meaningful careers. Known for her mentorship, she taught fellow recruiters the value of relationships over profit and building enduring friendships with clients and candidates alike.

Julie’s life was an embodiment of her deep Christian faith. She didn’t separate her professional and personal life from her spiritual beliefs. She prayed with friends, coworkers, clients, and candidates, finding joy in celebrating God through her relationships, music, finances, and everyday actions. On vacations, she would seek out a small, local church to attend, and with every commission check, she would carefully consider who she could help, whether it was supporting children she sponsored in Africa, an orphanage in Ukraine, campus ministries, or Christian radio stations. Even in her final days, Julie’s biggest concern was preparing her talk for an upcoming Walk to Emmaus Christian retreat; her thoughts remained focused on service.

Julie loved Husker football, volleyball, and really, all sports. She cherished her family, celebrating every milestone in the lives of her sister’s children as though they were her own. Music was another of her great loves. She played keyboard and sang with the worship band at Celebration. After her stroke, when she struggled to put together a complete sentence, she was still able to sing every worship song without missing a word or a note, a testament to her deep love of music and faith.

Julie is survived by her husband, Andy; her father, Tom Osborn; sister, Kim (Allan) Belina; nephews, Trevor (Hailey) Belina and their children, Wyatt, Barrett, and Kolsen, and Travis (Whitney) Belina and their children, Lauren, Dillon, Nolan, Adalyn); and niece, Bailey Belina. Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Karen Osborn.

Donations may be made in Julie’s honor to Celebration Covenant Church’s Helping Hands Fund, reflecting her lifelong dedication to faith and community.

Julie was an amazing person. I didn’t know her personally, but a few years ago when I worked at the Battle Creek Subway she came in to order a sub. She saw my name tag and put 2 & 2 together. I’m sure she remembered my name from when Kim and I played basketball in high school. If I can remember right she told me that she was related to my oldest daughter, Shawna, by marriage. I don’t remember how, but Shawna married Jared Pritchard from Spalding, his mom was a Burger. I don’t remember what side of the family she said it was that she was related to. And from that we had a good conversation and some laughs like we were old friends. She was truly a lovely person. I am sorry for your loss. Prayers for Julie and her family.

Sending prayers of peace to Julie’s family and friends. I met Julie as a recruiter who placed me in a role over 20 years ago and became friends through the years. We shared many conversations about business, Nebraska volleyball (especially when they were playing Wisconsin), music, Dave Matthews concerts, family and our faith. Julie was a mentor and friend, with such a big heart..

I am devastated to hear this news. Julie recruited me for a position and became a friend. She inspired and encouraged me along the way. She was also so kind and thoughtful. The world
Is a better place because of her.

Andy & Family – Sending prayers for peace and comfort with this heartbreaking loss of Julie. She made a recruiting cold call to me in 2009 for an opportunity I would later accept. I never imagined the amazing professional relationship and personal friendship that would develop thru the years. Our conversations covered all the topics – business, sports, family happenings, etc. She was a fantastic, trusted, and caring friend. I will miss her dearly. Julie will always be our special angel in Heaven. May God provide you comfort and care in the days ahead. -Matt

Very sorry of this loss for Andy and all the friends and family of Julie. She was such a wonderful person in all aspects both personally and professionally. We shared not only work stories, but I will truly miss the calls and texting on everything “Husker” related as I no longer live close by. It was very devastating news to hear but I also know Julie was a very strong person of faith and in a better place.

Julie was a special person and she truly will be missed. I had the incredible pleasure of having her represent me for potential employment as she was a very knowledgeable recruiter, we always joked about her Nebraska vs my Wisconsin Badgers in Volleyball & football whenever we would chat. My prayers go out to your family.
