June was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on June 15, 1930. After high school she attended nursing school at Philadelphia General Hospital. Upon graduation as a registered nurse, she worked for a couple of years in Philadelphia (part of that time as a surgical nurse to future Surgeon General C. Everett Koop.) She then decided to head west with two fellow graduates. California here we come! However, a stop in Omaha proved eventful as there were available nursing jobs and an even more available Joseph M Scheiblhofer. Employment was secured and a romance developed after their meeting on a blind date. June and Joe were married on January 8, 1955. After their  first apartment they bought a house and embarked on a life long journey together, which included three children, four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, and numerous dogs and cats.

June worked well past retirement age as an RN; she truly enjoyed her profession of nearly five decades. She also enjoyed her family and friends, gardening, doggies and kitties, crocheting, playing Chinese checkers, collecting Boyds Bears and dolls, eating ice cream, and of course… shopping! She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and a dedicated RN.

Preceded in death by husband, Joseph Michael. June is survived by their three children: Steven (Cynthia), Joseph (Mary Kay), June (Gabor) Czako; four grandchildren: Andrea (Brian) Harrison, Kelsey Winter, Michael (Lindsey), Richard (Ashley); four great-grandchildren: Ethan Michael, Ellie Rose, Mathew Joseph, and Collin Charles.

My deepest sympathy to June’s family. June was one of the first nurses I worked with in 1985 at Clarkson Hospital. She was kind and professional, and always smiling. She taught me so much as a new grad. I will always remember ❤ her.
