June Robinson

Elva June Robinson age 80, of Missouri Valley, Iowa passed away on August 9, 2014 at Longview Care Center in Missouri Valley, Iowa. June was born on June 11, 1934 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan to John L. and Bertha A. (Oremus) Malette. June graduated from Sault Ste Marie High School. After high school she attended Minnesota Bible College for one year. June 2, 1953 June married Donald Robinson in Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, Don and June were married for 61 years and worked together. June was a Minister’s wife and she taught teenagers, led youth choir, took teenagers on annual hiking trips, and taught youth groups. She led ladies Bible studies, participated in ladies groups, was an adult choir director and pianist most of those years. She worked by Don’s side and helped minister in Staples, Minnesota, LaCrosse, Wisconsin, Fort Benton, Montana, Missouri Valley, Iowa Tacoma Washington, and Harlan, Iowa. June loved her family. She enjoyed spending time at her family cabin in Canada and loved canoeing. She enjoyed gardening, canning, making quilts and bird watching. June was preceded in death by; her parents, John and Bertha, six brothers, one sister. Survivors include her husband Don of Missouri Valley, Iowa, Daughters; Joy Gerbode and husband Dave of Lena, Illinois, Janice Allen and husband Bruce of Logan, Iowa, JoAnn Grace and husband Mark of Sultan, Washington, son; Dennis Robinson and wife Leslie of DuPont, Washington, Foster daughter; Kris Kharbush of Kansas City, Missouri, foster son; Rick McKean and wife Noy of Cheyenne, Wyoming, brother; Andy Malette of Sault Ste Marie Michigan, twenty grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, five sisters- in- law, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hennessey Funeral Home in Missouri Valley, Iowa. Memorials may be given to Missionary Dale Mueller or Deaf Missions.
