Our Mother Kept a Garden
A garden of the heart
She planted all the good things
That gave our lives their start
She turned us to the sunshine
And encouraged us to dream
Fostering and nurturing
The seeds of self-esteem
And when the winds and rain came
She protected us enough
But not too much because she knew
We’d need to stand up strong and tough
Her constant good example
Always taught us right from wrong
Markers for our pathways
That will last a lifetime long
We are our mother’s garden

Even though I never had the honor of knowing Karen, I see her light and garden living on in her beautiful daughter, Mary.
May you all rest in the comfort of knowing she is no longer suffering and you will see her again in heaven.❤️❤️
Bob, Mary, Rick and all –
Sending love as you grieve this loss and hoping time and good memories — the life, gardening and spiritual advice — and enduring example of kindness offer comfort and a smile.
Will never forget the conversations with Karen about history, current events and more. She was one of the special people who made growing up in the St. Joan/Westgate community so special.
