Karen V. Larson

LARSON, Karen V. Apr 9, 1935 – Dec 17, 2014 Karen, born to Charles and Katherine Volk in Meadow Grove, NE, passed away peacefully at the age of 79, with loving family by her side. Karen and her husband, Larry Larson, lived in Omaha, NE, where she worked in the Union Pacific Corporate office until starting a family in 1960. Karen was a devoted mother of two children—her daughter Susan, born in 1960, and son David, born in 1963. Additionally, she was an officer of P.E.O, and an avid tennis player. She resumed her collegiate studies after spending numerous years raising her two children, graduating Magna Cum Laude from UNO in May 2000. She had many passions—her family farm and the sport of tennis of which she was most fond. In addition to competing in tennis, she instilled her passion for the game into two of her grandchildren, who eventually competed for their respective universities. Karen was a woman of strong faith and Christmas was her favorite time of year. She will be greatly missed, but her family finds comfort knowing she is in a better place, watching over them. Preceded in death by parents, Charles and Katherine Volk. Survived by husband, Larry R. Larson; children: Susan D. Kauss (Kristopher) and David A. Larson (Elizabeth); grandchildren: Austen and Alecia Kauss, Lauren and Tyler Larson; brother, Gordon Volk (Clara Belle).
