Karla M Richardson
October 18, 1948 – October 16, 2023
Karla is survived by her children: Diane (Scott) Pitner, Sheila Ryhal, Bryan (Cheryl) Ryhal; her grandchildren: Stephanie Schenkelberg, Max (Kayla) Schenkelberg, Jessica (Brady) DeGroot, Christopher Ryhal; her great-grandchildren: Ava and Elsie Schenkelberg, Theo & Bethany DeGroot; siblings: Coleen Weiler, David (Eileen) Wheat, Donette (Bryan) Cavanagh, Glen Wheat, and Jerry Wheat. She also has so many loving nieces and nephews who meant the world to her and so many wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Elda Wheat; brother-in-law, Alan Weiler.
She was born and raised in Southern California and was outgoing and loved to plan parties and was an excellent cook. She was a jack of all trades and worked in many different areas of business: Floral designer, hairdresser, secretarial work, caterer, child advocacy, and food service. She hosted exchange students that she took into her home. She was extremely creative and giving. She’d give you the shirt off her back even if she didn’t have anything to wear.
She had the most beautiful smile and was always fashionable and camera ready. She was a great listener. She is a Christian and her faith sustained her through the long battle with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She loved to listen to her brothers and other family members who played instruments and sang to her.
Memorial Service: Saturday, October 21st, 2023 at 11:00am at West Center Chapel with a lunch to follow.
Memorials are suggested to the Lymphoma Society or a Pro Life Movement Organization.
