Kathleen A. Darling (Cavanaugh) 

May 11, 1959 – April 28, 2024

Preceded in death by husband, Daniel Darling, and parents, William and Patricia Cavanaugh. Survived by children, Noah and Julia Darling; dog, Ozzy; and brothers, Tim and Mike Cavanaugh.

Kathleen was born in Omaha, Nebraska, the youngest of 3 children. She attended Beals Elementary School, Norris Junior High, Paul VI High School, and UNO. In 1995, she married Daniel Darling and had Noah in December of 1998, and Julia in January of 2001. Daniel died suddenly in 2002, leaving Noah and Julia the central focus of Kathleen’s life, and her greatest pride and joy. She began her career with the IRS, then the Corps of Engineers, ending with an early retirement in 2008 from federal service with Defense Finance and Accounting Service at Offutt, totaling twenty eight and a half years.  In 2013, Kathy began working as a paraprofessional in the Millard Public Schools, first at Cody Elementary and then Upchurch Elementary. Kathleen touched everyone in her life with her resilience, friendship, and a sense of humor.

VISITATION: Friday, May 3rd, from 5 to 7 p.m., with TIME OF SHARING at 6 p.m., at West Center Chapel.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, May 4th, 11 a.m., West Center Chapel.

Interment, Calvary Cemetery.

    Kathy was a special person, I will aways remember enjoying outdoor concerts with her. Lots of hugs and prayers for the family.

    I was very sorry to hear of your Mom’ s passing. I always remember your Mom’s pretty long red hair. It was always enjoyable to see her at the class reunion. Her HUMOR was undeniably FUN. God Bless. Rest in peace Kathy.
