Kathleen A. Smithberg
December 16, 1941 – September 9, 2023
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Leonard; and brothers, Wayne and Stephen.
She is survived by brothers, Richard J. Smithberg (Susan) and John P. Smithberg (Virginia); nieces and nephews.
Kathleen graduated from Marian High School in 1959 and entered the Servite Order (Servants of Mary) in 1960. She finished her master’s degree at New York State University at Potsdam, New York. She taught for forty years.
Kathleen was active in NYSTA (New York State Teacher Association). She also was president of Delta Kappa Gamma for two terms.
In her retirement years, Kathleen enjoyed working as a housekeeper for various Catholic parishes. She enjoyed travel, visiting friends, and entertaining.
VISITATION: Wednesday, September 13th from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel, followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Thursday, September 14th at 10:30am, St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church, 11802 Pacific. Interment, St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery. Memorials will be directed by the family.

So sorry to hear of her passing! I got to know her when she would come in for coffee at Summer Kitchen Cafe on Mondays. She will be missed.
I’m stunned to hear of Kathleen’s passing, which I just found out about.. I enjoyed visiting with her whenever I would see her at church or at my place of work. She will be missed. .
Kathy was a dear and loyal friend for more than 50 years. We have many fond memories of shared experiences. She will be missed. Our sincere condolences to the Smithberg family. Love, Linda and Jim
