Kenneth Eugene Kissell
June 28, 1928 – March 12, 2022
Astronomer, scientist, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Ken died on March 12, 2022, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was born on June 28, 1928, and raised in Columbiana, Ohio.
The Ohio State University awarded him the BS, MS, and the PhD in Astrophysics. His career in astrophysics included work on optics for the Hubble Space Telescope and over five decades of contributions to the international space community.
Ken believed in life-long learning and attended university classes well into his later years. He loved to travel with family, friends and colleagues and enjoyed sharing the beauty and diversity of the earth and his passion for searching the universe.
Ken is survived by wife, Judith; sons, Kevin and Brad Kissell; grandson, Raphael Kissell.
