Kenneth Frank Mapes, 88, died August 8, 2022, at his home. He was born, March 9, 1934, in Carson Iowa, the son of George and Rosa (Donnelly) Mapes.

Kenneth graduated from Macedonia High School, class of 1951. Following graduation, he served with the National Guard of Nebraska until December 1954. On September 4, 1954, he married Myrtle Wolf, and they settled down in Omaha NE. They celebrated 67 years of marriage. Kenneth worked for the Omaha Livestock market for 41 years.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his 4 brothers: Richard Mapes, Vernon Mapes, Charles Mapes; sister, Geraldine Cox. He is survived by his wife, Myrtle (Wolf) Mapes; son, Rodney Mapes, and his wife Candy; daughters: Janet Cassady, Amy Mapes, and Barbara Eckman and her husband Morry; 4 grandchildren: Jason Mapes, Jean Claus, Heather Mapes, and Skye Mapes; 10 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022. Those who wish to remember Kenneth in a special way may make gifts in his memory to: Kindred Hospice at 444 Regency Parkway Drive, Suite 200, Omaha NE, 68114.

    Aunt Myrtle, Barbara,Janet, Rodney our thoughts and prayers now and weeks ahead. May God show you comfort. Janet it will be hard take one day at a time and the love you both shared will always remain in your heart. Aunt Myrtle I will be thinking of you today. I hurt my leg why I can’t come
