Kenneth G. Stenberg

October 21, 1932 – December 17, 2021

Kenneth G. “Ken” Stenberg died in Omaha, Nebraska on December 17, 2021 at the age of 89 years.  He was born in Ashland, Nebraska on October 21, 1932, to Martin and Lillie (Olson) Stenberg.  He graduated from Ashland High School in 1950, served in the U.S. Army from February 1953 to February 1955, and later owned and operated Ken’s Appliance Service.  Ken received the Citizenship Medal from the U.S. Army and served two terms as the Commander of Ralston American Legion Post 373.  His interests and hobbies included gardening, fishing, and watching sports on TV, all of which he loved and enjoyed.  There are three words that sum up Ken’s life: loving, big-hearted, and hardworking.

Ken is survived by his wife of more than 62 years, JoAnn Stenberg; daughter Kris Hess and her husband Steve and their daughter, Abbey; brothers-in-law, Dick Buckmaster and Ron Nelson; sister-in-law, Roberta Nelson; many loving nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: Wednesday, December 22nd from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel.  Funeral: Thursday, December 23rd at 10:30am, Ralston United Church of Christ, 7638 Maywood, Ralston 68127.  Graveside Service with Military Honors: Thursday, 1pm, Ashland, Neb. Cemetery.  Memorials will be directed by the family.

    Bev, Pam and Trisha Couture are so sorry to hear the lost of Ken . He was a great guy. Kenyans Joann was so good to my Mom. They would pick mom up and take her to the legion on Friday nights. 🙏🙏🙏

    Dear Kris and Family, I am so sorry to hear about your dads passing. What a wonderful 89 years this fine man had on earth! I remember him always coming to my parents house to fix all of their appliances and there wasn’t anything he could not fix or get a part for. He was a great guy and I know how much he loved you for all of your accomplishments. He lived a great life and very fond memories!
