I’m stunned and heartbroken to hear hear about Kevin. My teammate all four years and roommate during our senior year at Creighton. He was an outstanding ball player, amazing man and someone who lived life to the fullest. The time we spent together was amazing, joyous and his devilish charm was as infectious as his smile and laugh. We had a hellacious amount of crazy good times. He and the entire Kuehl family were so wonderful to me during my time in Omaha. I’m forever grateful for the time we spent together. Rest in peace my friend.

My heart is hurting for Deb and Kuehl family. Kevin was just someone you always wanted to be around. Whether it was infectious laugh, or his story telling, or just the kindness he treated everyone with, he was just someone you always enjoyed, and looked forward to, being around. I have so many fond memories of Kevin from my time in Kansas City. From golfing, to betting Hollywood Park races on Friday nights, man he always made whatever we were doing fun. I am blessed to be among those who can call Kevin a friend.

There are no words to say. Mick and I will miss you forever! We first met in the early 70″s and there is no end to the stories we could tell. Kevin was the Best Man in our wedding and that is a really good description of Kevin. Debbie, we love you and know that if you need anything… Lauren, all our love. To all the Kuehl brothers and your families, love you all.

  • Gregg Kupfer Posted January 17, 2024 1:51 pm

Was Scott Hawk’s assistant at Cathedral. We talked many times about how Prep got upset in ’74 without a wild card. That Prep team was outstanding. Was the sixth man on Fremont’s team that year. Lost to Central in the semis at state. Scott told me how Prep had beat them several times that year. Kevin was a very integral part of that team. Probably the reason the wild card berth was started. When the boys at Cathedral won state in ’86, I remember Scott wanting to hold the trophy, because he didn’t get to in high school. Kevin, please know that your excellent career was noticed and appreciated by this Fremont Tiger. Much respect-Coach Kupfer

All the Halpine cousins send their understanding of another loss of a brother gone too soon. Those picnics at the Kuehl acreage in the sixties were some of the fondest childhood memories. Kevin wrangled Stormy with the rest of us for a bit of the cowboy experience we hold precious.

  • Geoff Dahlman Posted January 21, 2024 8:09 am

  • Nancy Orsi Boe Posted January 22, 2024 1:57 pm

Thinking of the entire Kuehl family during this sad time and sending prayers. Our family grew up just down street from the “cool” Kuehl boys. We have so many fun memories from that time. The Kuehl’s have lost some wonderful people way too soon. I was really good friends with Debbie and Terry. My brother, Pete, hung out with Kevin and Danny during those childhood days. Be comforted knowing you have those Kuehl heavenly angels watching over you.
