Karen L. Kiger Aug 18, 1934 – Jan 25, 2015 80 years old, of Omaha. Karen was born in Council Bluffs to Raymond and Marjorie Peterson. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1952 and from the University of Iowa in 1955. Through the years Karen was very involved in the Omaha Symphony Guild, PEO – Chapter EF, Pi Beta Phi Alumni Group, the Omaha Playhouse and Assistance League of Omaha. Karen was preceded in death by husband, Ronald L. Kiger, Sr. Karen is survived by two daughters, Kim Slickman and husband Dan of Overland Park, Kansas, Karie Cross and husband Robert Witherell of Boise, Idaho; son, Ronald L. Kiger, Jr. and wife Janet of Omaha; sister, Rozan Mueller and husband Cliff of Naples, Florida; sister-in-law, Roslyn Garrett and husband Mike, of Austin Texas; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. An OPEN HOUSE to honor Karen’s life will be held on Saturday, January 31st between 10am and 12noon at Happy Hollow Club, 1701 S. 105 St. Valet parking will be available by the Pro Shop entrance. Memorials may be offered to Lauritzen Gardens, Omaha Symphony, or University of Iowa.
