Preceded in death by parents, David and Mary Shafer; sister, Tressa Johnson. Survived by husband, Daniel J. Peterson; children: Michael Balaban (Tonya), Amanda Baker (Ryan), and Christopher Peterson (Krista); four grandchildren: Mariah, Tyler, Ian, and Miles; sisters, Toni Eggebraaten (Chuck) and Susan Nielsen.

The family will receive friends Saturday, May 6th from 3pm to 5pm, with CELEBRATION OF LIFE at 5pm at the Bel Air Chapel, 12100 W. Center Rd.  Memorials are suggested to Nebraska Kidney Foundation.

    I Heart and. Being is sadden about hearing about Kit.I wish I was a better friend. A caring hug to her family . A pleasure of knowing Kit,school volunteering to coffee at our favorite restaurant in Papillion luv Kathy

    Oh Kit I’m at a loss for words. I already miss you. I envision your beautiful smiling face and know it’s going to be okay. Mostly because you told me so. I’m so much a richer human by knowing you. I also believe that as much as I hate you leaving this earth, I’m sure those behind the veil are celebrating your arrival. My prayers and positive thoughts go out to your family who are facing such a loss. Until we meet again I love you

    Kit was such a warm, loving, and caring person! May all who love her be comforted by memories of her when she was here with us. We miss you, Kit.

    I worked with Kit at the VA. Everytime I saw her, she was always upbeat and had a beautiful smile! You will be missed Kit! Your family is in my prayers.

      Kit Kat, my heart is full of sadness and my words are hard to express , you were the best friend anyone could have . You always found the best in everyone and the silver lining in all situations . I can still hear you laughing and see your smile, always interested in my work , my grandkids and encouraged us to Be our best . . We had so many great times, I am a better person thanks to you , I will always be greatful for having you in our lives . Gone to soon , never forgotten . You touched so many lives, with laughter and genuine love, never judging, anyone . Kit Kat love and miss you girl , thanks for all the memories . Your friend Kim
