Krista Lee Moravec passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, at the age of 74.  Born in Omaha, Nebraska on August 10, 1950, she was preceded in death by parents Robert Amos Teig and Audrey Phillips Teig.  She is survived by children, Jared Moravec (Heather) and Brandon Moravec (Kathryn); one grandchild, Tyler Moravec; brothers, James Teig (Connie) and Jeffrey Teig (Linda); nieces and nephews.

She grew up and spent her entire life in Omaha with family and friends.  While attending the University of Nebraska-Omaha, she met the love of her life, Wesley Moravec; they were married on August 7, 1971.

After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education and Master’s degree in Resource and Learning Disabilities, she spent more than 18 years of service in the Millard Public Schools teaching high school Special Education at Millard North H.S. and Millard West H.S.  She impacted hundreds of young lives until her retirement in 2012.

Krista’s relationship with God was a very important part of her life.  She attended Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Elkhorn, Nebraska and held many positions there including being a member of the Board of Education and Board of Human Care, and teaching a variety of church classes including VBS, CDT, and Sunday School.

Her children and grandson meant everything to her.  She loved to play Keno with them, travel with them, and talk on the phone for hours with her grandson.

She loved her coffee, knitting, and spending time with her friends.  She will always be remembered as a caring, compassionate, and loving person.

Kris, you were an amazing person. I enjoyed every moment our families were together. Even though we did not get together often enough, your words always meant a lot to me. Now you can be together forever with your loving parents, husband and family members. Take care, I look forward to seeing you and everyone again someday. Love, Spencer and Lily Owen

Krista has to be has to be one of the best examples of Gods people I have ever known. Compassion and understanding
We had talked many hours discussing and sharing many thoughts I want to thank her for that.
But now she does not have to suffer through her illness and can now be free of that which she deserves.
I am sure she will be missed by all of her family and friends and there are many others now she can now be reunited with who must have deep respect fans compassion for her. As I hope to meet. you again some day you are certainly one of the best.

Krista was such a kind and gentle soul, and we had many memorable conversations when she would stop by my office after Bible study or when prepping for her midweek kids. And the afternoon we spent in the kitchen baking cookies for the new child care center’s furniture is a fond memory for sure. I rejoice that she is gazing upon the face of Jesus and free from her worries and anxieties forever!

I knew Krista in high school and earlier. She was the sweetest person. I always felt so comfortable around her. I am celebrating who she was and the ways she gave to so many. I’m sending much love to her family and all who loved her, and I’m holding you all in my heart as you navigate the forever grief of living without her.
